The project aims to create a shared concept for the future development of Knyazheska Garden through a broad process of public participation. Prior to conducting an international architectural competition, the aim is to build broad consensus around the main principles, values and priorities for the park’s development: what should be preserved, what can be changed, and which functions and qualities should be further developed.

The project considers Knyazheska Garden in its entirety – as a green public space, a place for encounters, play, sports and culture, a space with a multilayered history, and an important part of Sofia’s central urban structure.
The project includes public and expert discussions, workshops, thematic talks, sociological and online surveys, and other formats for engaging citizens, professional and civic communities, institutions and stakeholders.
KOMPONENTA participates in the development and implementation of the engagement, dialogue and co-creation process focused on the future development of the garden.
Expected Outcome:
The project is currently in implementation. The outcome of the current stage will be a shared concept that brings together identified public objectives, principles and priorities for Knyazheska Garden.
These will serve as the basis for preparing the brief for the future international architectural competition for the renewal of the park.
